    Small Seeds, Big Harvest

God does His biggest work through our smallest acts of faithfulness.

By the time you finish this guide, you’ll have written one small faithful step for your business — and found the courage to begin it this week.

    My Small Seed

A quiet, guided reflection. Write your one small faithful step — and the outcome you’re handing to God.

    The Big Idea

We tend to measure by the harvest and despise the seed. But every harvest in Scripture starts absurdly small: a boy’s lunch feeds five thousand, a mustard seed becomes a tree, a sling stone fells a giant. God specialises in small beginnings He refuses to despise.

Before we talk business, God reminds us He delights in small beginnings. The seed doesn’t look like the harvest — and that’s okay. He rejoices to see the work begin, not the work finished.

    Faithful in the Small

    Three truths to sit with.

    1. Small is not insignificant — it’s where God starts

We tend to measure by the harvest and despise the seed. But every harvest in Scripture starts absurdly small: a boy’s lunch feeds five thousand, a mustard seed becomes a tree, a sling stone fells a giant. God specialises in small beginnings He refuses to despise.

“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin.” — Zechariah 4:10
“The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants.” — Matthew 13:31–32

God doesn’t just tolerate small beginnings — He rejoices in them.

    2. Faithfulness in the small is the training ground

Jesus makes the link explicit: who we are with little decides what we’re trusted with much. The daily email, the follow-up call, the quiet work nobody claps for — that’s where character is formed and capacity is built for the harvest.

“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much.” — Luke 16:10
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” — Galatians 6:9

The small step you keep repeating is the seed that becomes the harvest.

    3. Sow, then trust the growth

The sower in the parable does his part — he sows — and then the mystery of growth belongs to God. Our job is faithful sowing; the outcome is His. This frees us from both striving and passivity: sow diligently, then rest in His timing.

“Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how.” — Mark 4:27

Sow the seed this week. Then watch for what only God can grow.

    Sow & Share

Recall a time you started small — a tiny beginning God multiplied, or a season of hidden faithfulness. What one lesson did you take home from it?

    The One Small Step Planner

A simple tool every woman can use this week. Complete it before the next Circle.

    1. 1.Seed. Write the one small step you will take in your business this week — make it embarrassingly small.
    2. 2.When. Write the day and time you will do it.
    3. 3.Surrender. Write the outcome you are handing to God.
    4. 4.Display. Stick it where you’ll see it daily — fridge, mirror, desk.

Why it works: Zechariah 4:10 — what gets written gets begun, and beginnings are what God rejoices in.

    Around the Table

Sit with three or four of the questions below. Let stories breathe — don’t rush to fill the silence.

What's one 'small seed' in your business you've been tempted to despise?
Where are you weary in doing good right now — and what would 'not giving up' look like this week?
What's the difference between sowing faithfully and striving anxiously in your work?
What would change if you measured this month by faithfulness instead of figures?
Is there an outcome you've been trying to control that you need to hand back to God?
Who's one woman in this room whose small beginning you could encourage this month?

    My Small Seed

What is yours to sow — and what outcome will you trust God to grow?

Take a few quiet minutes. Write your one small faithful step for this week, and the outcome you’re handing back to God.

    Prayer & Praise

    Share.

Bring one request or one praise to God. Notice what weighs on your heart, and what you’re grateful for.

    Pray.

Hold the small step you wrote on your card before God. Pray specifically — for courage to begin, strength to continue, and trust for the outcome.

    Commissioning Prayer

Father, we give You our small seeds — every tiny beginning, every faithful step, every business we are building in obscurity. We will not despise small beginnings, because You rejoice in them. Give us the courage to sow and the patience to trust. Send us out as women who are faithful with little, ready for much.

    Amen.

    Sow the seed.

Then watch for what only God can grow.

    Faithful in the small.

    Trusted with much.
